A root canal is a dental procedure that involves removing the infected or damaged pulp from a tooth, followed by cleaning, filling, and sealing the tooth to alleviate pain and prevent further infection.
Root canal treatment is performed to remove infected or damaged pulp from a tooth, relieving pain and preventing the spread of infection.
During the process, the dentist cleans and disinfects the tooth’s canal, fills it with a biocompatible material, and seals it to restore functionality.
Root canals are typically recommended for teeth with deep cavities, extensive decay, or trauma that has affected the pulp, causing pain or abscess.
The procedure aims to preserve the natural tooth, avoiding extraction, and is often followed by the placement of a crown to strengthen and protect the treated tooth.

Root canal treatment involves the removal of the dental pulp, which is the soft tissue containing nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue, from the interior of the tooth.
Root canals are often performed to treat and resolve infections or abscesses within a tooth, preventing the spread of infection to surrounding tissues.
The primary goal of a root canal is to preserve the natural tooth. After the removal of infected pulp, the tooth is cleaned, filled, and sealed to maintain its structure and functionality.
During the procedure, local anesthesia is used to numb the tooth and surrounding area, ensuring minimal discomfort. After the root canal, some patients may experience mild discomfort, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.
The duration of a root canal procedure varies based on factors such as the tooth’s location and complexity of the case. On average, the treatment can be completed in one to two appointments, each lasting about 60 to 90 minutes.
The primary alternative to a root canal is tooth extraction. However, preserving the natural tooth through a root canal is often preferred, as it maintains the integrity of the dental arch. Consult with your dentist to determine the most suitable option based on your specific dental condition.

The staff at Kidz Zone Dental is the best. They always remember our names and make our son feel comfortable conning to the dentist. Today he had a root canal scheduled and the staff always makes us feel at ease. Thank you for the incredible service.
I am glad I came here. I was told from another dental clinic that I need a dental implant, I came here and got root canal done and saved my teeth. The doctor here is very nice and dental hygienist is very thorough and nice. I feel a lot better after the treatment.
A great dentist with a great staff! They do not try to sell you on additional services and she is very friendly with a good personality. I have had many bad experiences with dentists and a good one is really hard to find in my opinion. I had to get my root canal extracted and she did not rush the procedure and basically made the pain as minimal as possible. I will definitely be a forever patient here along with my children. This place is 5 stars in my opinion.
